Multi-Wavelength LED Arrangement and PCB Design Challenge
Challenge
The module required both:
- 405nm UV LEDs
- 450nm Blue LEDs
The challenge was not simply placing two different LED types on the same board.
A conventional approach could separate the two wavelengths into different areas, which would make electrical design and PCB routing relatively straightforward.
However, the customer required an alternating LED arrangement:
UV LED → Blue LED → UV LED → Blue LED
This created additional complexity in:
- PCB routing
- Electrical paths
- Circuit grouping
- Module layout
